On 1 December, the TOP Bolesławiec volleyball players began the second half of the IV league competition. Their opponents were Ren-But Złotoryja. The away match was played at a very high level. The team from Złotoryja had made some reinforcements, bringing several players from Legnica into their squad. However, this was not enough to overcome our volleyball players, who were in excellent form that day. From the first whistle, TOP took the initiative on the court, quickly building a four-point lead. The Bolesławiec team made no mistakes and maintained its advantage until the end of the set, winning confidently 25–19.
The second set followed a similar course until the score reached 19 points. TOP maintained its lead until a loss of confidence crept into our team’s reception of serves. This was particularly visible in one rotation. Ren-But then took a 22–19 lead. This turn of events greatly concerned coach Bogusław Mienculewicz, who made two changes that proved crucial to the further course of the game. Wojciech Marcinkiewicz came on to strengthen the block, while Krzysztof Wantuch appeared in the defensive line. Wojtek made an excellent blocking deflection, after which Krzysiek was able to make an accurate pass to the setter. This broke the good run enjoyed by the players from Złotoryja. After a nervous finale, TOP won the second set 26–24.
In the third set, Bolesławiec did not surrender the initiative, winning convincingly 25–20 and consequently taking the entire match 3–0. After the match, the hosts prepared a surprise in the form of an award for the best players from both teams. The referees officiating the match objectively judged that the best player of the match for TOP Bolesławiec was setter Piotr Induła.
