After arriving at the scene and conducting an assessment, it was determined that a propane-butane gas explosion had occurred in the kitchen on the first floor of the building. As a result of the incident, a partition wall collapsed, while the load-bearing wall structure and electrical installation were damaged.
The firefighters’ actions consisted of securing the scene and evacuating the occupant. The injured person was provided with qualified first aid and then handed over to a medical rescue team.
Firefighters secured the damaged elements of the building, disconnected the electrical power supply and carried out measurements with gas detectors, which revealed no further hazards.
The District Building Supervision Inspector will decide whether the building can continue to be used. The circumstances and causes of the incident will be established by the Police.
The following took part in the operations: the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Złotoryja, the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Lwówek Śląski, Volunteer Fire Service units from Pielgrzymka, Twardocice, Nowa Wieś Grodziska and Sędzimirów, a Medical Rescue Team, the Police, the Emergency Power Service and the District Building Supervision Inspectorate.
