On Friday, Bolesławiec police officers arrested a young man suspected of causing a tragic accident on August 30, 2007, in which two people died. The man had been sought by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec. By decision of the Bolesławiec District Court, he was placed in temporary custody.

On Saturday morning, officers from the Nowogrodziec police station arrested two men in Czerna, aged 33 and 37, who wanted to steal firewood worth PLN 500. The suspects were placed in the Detention Facility.

Later that day, before midnight, Bolesławiec police officers stopped a Mazda passenger car driver on Spółdzielcza Street. During the inspection, 4 packets of marijuana were found in the car.

Police officers also had their hands full during Independence Day. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, officers from Nowogrodziec, together with municipal guards, arrested two young men in Gierałtów, aged 24 and 33, who had attempted to steal PVC pipes worth nearly PLN 4,000 in total. Two hours later, Bolesławiec police officers caught two people on Dolne Młyny Street who wanted to appropriate 4 wheels with aluminum rims worth more than PLN 250 in total. The would-be thieves were placed in the Detention Facility.

Meanwhile, in Brzeźnik, at around 3:00 p.m., officers from the Traffic Department stopped a drunk man driving a BMW passenger car on national road no. 4. The driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.70 per mille. In total, from November 9 to 11, police officers from Bolesławiec County arrested as many as 9 intoxicated drivers.
