A Lubin resident called the local police duty officer and reported that a delivery van was parked in front of one of the clothing stores and that three men were carrying boxes out of the store and loading them onto the vehicle. The caller became suspicious because of the speed at which they were doing it. Police officers from the Prevention Department spotted the vehicle on the road leading out of Lubin. They stopped it for inspection. The back of the van was loaded with boxes of clothing which, as it turned out, had indeed come from a burglary.

The three Lubin residents, aged between 31 and 45, did not manage to get far with the loot—all thanks to the vigilance of a Lubin resident and the police officers’ swift response. The detainees were taken into police custody. They face up to 10 years in prison.
