Officers from the Police Station in Bogatynia received a report of the theft of a BMW worth PLN 140,000. At the scene, police established that the perpetrator had entered a mobile network store and stolen the car keys left on a desk, and then taken the vehicle itself, which was parked near the store.
The officers established that the vehicle had been stolen by a 39-year-old man and also located the stolen car in the Czech Republic. As part of international cooperation, Czech officers went to the location indicated by the Bogatynia police and found the stolen property. The car was returned to its owner, while further actions by the officers enabled them to determine the suspect’s whereabouts and arrest him.
Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail. The detained 39-year-old was placed in police custody. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
