The incident occurred on Sunday, September 18, at around 10:00 a.m. A man approached the dispatcher’s window at the Lubin police station and said that he wanted to check his sobriety. He added that he intended to drive a car and did not know whether he could. The test showed nearly 0.6 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
At that time, a patrol from the Preventive Department was at the station. The officers informed the dispatcher that the man who had just been tested had arrived at the Lubin District Police Headquarters by car, which he had parked right outside the station. When the BMW driver realized that the police had seen him driving the vehicle, he tried to explain himself. In an attempt to save himself, he stated that he had drunk another beer while walking to the station.
The 37-year-old resident of Wielkopolska lost his driving licence. What is more, he may face up to two years in prison.
