Officers arrested a 29-year-old resident of Bogatynia suspected of breaking into and stealing a car. The uniformed officers spotted an Alfa Romeo passenger car on a dirt road, with a man next to it who was trying to start it. When he saw the police, he began to flee, leading the officers to suspect that the vehicle might have been stolen.
The 29-year-old was arrested after a short pursuit. The man had no vehicle documents and could not tell the police who owned the car. The ignition switch in the vehicle had been damaged. It turned out that the vehicle had been stolen moments earlier on one of the streets of Bogatynia. The car recovered by the Bogatynia police has already been returned to its owner.
The 29-year-old from Bogatynia, suspected of attempting to break into and steal an Alfa Romeo, was placed in police custody. He could now face up to 10 years in prison.
