The incident occurred on September 2, before 8:00 p.m., in Lubin gmina. Officers from the Independent Riot Prevention Police Subunit in Legnica noticed a man driving a garden tractor that was towing a trailer. Three children were sitting in it. When he saw the uniformed officers, the driver pulled off the road and stopped. The police decided to check him, but first made sure that the children were safe and unharmed. The man clearly smelled of alcohol. The test showed nearly 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.
It turned out that the vehicle driven by the 32-year-old resident of Lubin gmina had been built by him himself. The irresponsible man, who took three children for a ride in the tractor while drunk, now faces up to two years in prison. The children were placed in the care of their family.
