The incident occurred on September 1. A resident of Jelenia Góra called the duty officer at Police Station II and said that an unknown man was damaging his car by jumping on its hood. Police officers from the Prevention Unit of Police Station II in Jelenia Góra, who arrived at the scene within just a few minutes, arrested a 29-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County after a brief chase. The man tore off the exterior wing mirror and damaged the car’s hood. What is more, he turned out to be drunk—he had 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The vandal admitted to the offense but was unable to explain his behavior. The victim, whose car was damaged by the drunk man, estimated the losses at PLN 800. The 29-year-old detainee could face up to 5 years in prison.
