The incident took place at the turn of April and May last year. At the time, unidentified perpetrators dismantled and stole a historic aviation beacon in the town of Ustronie.

Officers from the Criminal Department of the Lubin police worked on the case. The officers successively checked numerous leads and pieces of information. As a result of painstaking operational work, they identified the perpetrator.

After compiling the evidence, they arrested a man suspected of the theft. The resident of Lubin County admitted to committing the crime. As he explained to the officers, he stole the beacon because he thought no one needed it anymore. He then sold it at a scrap-metal collection point.

The 33-year-old has already been charged. He faces up to five years in prison. Police do not rule out further arrests in the case.
