On June 23, at around 2:30 a.m., a resident of Lubin called the Lubin police duty officer and informed the officer that he had seen two men breaking into a kiosk in the city center.

Patrol officers from the Prevention Division immediately went there. The officers spotted the burglars. When the men realized that police officers had arrived, they began to flee. They were arrested after a chase and taken into police custody.

The two men, aged 45 and 48, had come from Silesian Voivodeship for a “guest appearance.” Equipped with crowbars, they wanted to force open the kiosk door and then rob it. The plan failed thanks to the proper conduct of a Lubin resident.

The two residents of Silesian Voivodeship will now face charges of attempted burglary. This type of offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Both men had previously been convicted of similar crimes.
