At around 5:00 p.m. on Bracka Street in Lubań, a municipal police patrol noticed store employees struggling with a man tightly clutching plastic bags. When he saw the uniformed officers, the man ran away. The officers pursued him.
The 38-year-old Bolesławiec resident, apprehended near the scene, admitted to stealing leather goods and footwear. The suspect and the recovered merchandise were handed over to the Lubań District Police Headquarters officers who arrived at the scene and will carry out further proceedings in the case.
If it turns out that the items stolen by the Bolesławiec resident were worth more than PLN 437.50, he could face up to five years in prison.
