On 20 April, at the invitation of the Students’ Council of the Bolesławiec University of the Third Age, uniformed officers from the Prevention Department of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec met with UTW students as part of the preventive ABC of a Safe Senior programme.
The police officers discussed scams involving a so-called grandchild or nephew, as well as theft by people posing as employees of institutions. Older people, especially those living alone, are often victims of this type of crime.
For the safety of pedestrians, the police officers reminded attendees of the obligation to use reflective elements, which make pedestrians visible from as far as 150 metres away.
The meeting participants also received a leaflet listing the community police officers of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
