On April 7, we wrote that the new head of the Youth Cultural Centre would be Bolesławiec resident Beata Domerecka, who was a Polish language teacher at Primary School No. 10 and headteacher of the primary school in Kruszyn (for three terms). Later, she linked her professional career with major systemic projects carried out in cooperation with the Centre for Education Development and Jagiellonian University, working on them as an expert and trainer.
“That adventure outside Bolesławiec lasted four years,” the future head of the Youth Cultural Centre tells “ii”. “Now I took the opportunity and entered the competition for director of this institution.”
We asked why she decided to do so, given that the two previous directors no longer wanted to hold the position. (We wrote about this, among other things, in the article Why doesn’t Marek Łętowski want to be director of the Youth Cultural Centre?). “I don’t know what the reason for such decisions was,” B. Domerecka replies. “But when I look at the work of the Youth Cultural Centre, especially its achievements, I can see that the institution has much to be proud of. These are impressive achievements. Heading the Youth Cultural Centre will be a challenge and a great pleasure.”
She adds: “The passion of the people who work there guarantees further successes. I hope they will also be possible under my leadership.”
Plans for the future? “The most important thing is to get to know the team,” emphasises the new head of the Youth Cultural Centre. “The Youth Cultural Centre manages the Old Theatre. We will certainly uphold this tradition. Ms Aneta Ćwieluch is certainly an exceptional person.”
She announces: “I will certainly not make decisions concerning the institution’s development on my own, but together with the team.”
