Officers from the Economic Crime Division of the Lubin District Police Headquarters received information that a resident of Polkowice County might be deceiving people. The man was allegedly promising well-paid jobs at a large company in Lower Silesia. He was arrested.
As police officers established, the fraudster boasted during meetings with acquaintances that he had a high-ranking acquaintance at a large company. Their relationship was supposedly so close that arranging a well-paid job through the 41-year-old was not a problem. Except that... it was not free. The cost of the assistance was PLN 3,000. There were willing applicants. They paid the money, but, of course, they did not get the jobs.
The resident of Polkowice County was charged with defrauding at least five people. He now faces up to eight years in prison.
