A police officer from the Chojnów Police Station who lives in Bolesławiec noticed, while off duty and shopping at one of the city’s stores, a suspiciously behaving man who was nervously putting various shop items into a basket.
The officer then observed that the man bypassed the checkout and ran out of the store. The officer immediately chased the thief and recovered goods worth more than PLN 600.
The detained man is a 26-year-old resident of Bolesławiec; he had previously been convicted of similar offences. He now faces up to five years in prison.
