At the Tradition Hall of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, superiors, colleagues and co-workers said farewell to the following personnel ending their service in the Bolesławiec garrison: Captain Piotr Olka, plenipotentiary for the protection of classified information; Warrant Officer Dariusz Budniak, commander of the ddow protection and traffic-control platoon; Junior Warrant Officer Krzysztof Chrościak, commander of a communications platoon crew; Junior Warrant Officer Roman Pieszka, technician of the 3 dar subunit; and Senior Corporal Tomasz Derewiński, commander of a 3 dar crew, assigned to postgraduate training as part of the officer course.
During the farewell assembly, the soldiers’ immediate superiors outlined their service and achievements. The commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Colonel Paweł Świtalski, summarized their professional accomplishments and the contribution they had made during years of exemplary service to the Bolesławiec unit.
After the order was read and distinctions presented, in accordance with the tradition cultivated at the 23rd Artillery Regiment, delegations of the respective corps honored those transferring to the reserve with commemorative sabers. After bidding farewell to the unit’s colors, commemorative entries were made in the 23rd Artillery Regiment’s Memorial Book.
The final hero of the farewell ceremony, Senior Corporal Tomasz Derewiński, is leaving the garrison to take on another challenge in his professional development. Like his colleagues before him, he will study at the Land Forces Officer Academy to pursue his professional ambitions and earn his “officer’s insignia.”
The ceremony culminated in a commemorative photograph and the acceptance of wishes and congratulations from colleagues and co-workers.
