Therefore, on 2 and 3 March, they will jointly conduct the Safe Intersection operation. During this time, patrols of the public-order services will check, based on residents’ reports, various locations in Legnica where traffic regulations are being violated.
Parking less than 10 metres from an intersection reduces visibility and obstructs traffic, thereby creating a risk to the life or health of other road users. Drivers who leave their vehicles in such a thoughtless manner must reckon with the possibility of having their cars towed at their own expense.
The figures speak for themselves. In 2014, municipal services removed 70 improperly parked cars to a guarded car park. A year later, there were already 114. Most of the vehicles towed had a permissible maximum gross weight of up to 3.5 tonnes. It is worth remembering that retrieving such a car from a guarded car park costs more than PLN 500, and the fee increases by a further PLN 39 each day.
