At the end of December last year, an unknown perpetrator committed a robbery against a resident of Lubin. As a result of operational work and based on the information gathered, criminal investigators from the Lubin police station determined the suspect’s identity and arrested him. He turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of the city.
The victim was returning home late at night. As he was walking through the city centre, an unknown man approached him. He asked him for a light for a cigarette. The men began talking. At one point, taking advantage of the Lubin resident’s inattention, the perpetrator attacked him, hitting him several times on the head and rendering the victim helpless. The 36-year-old then robbed the victim. The perpetrator took a wallet with its contents and a mobile phone.
The arrested man faces up to 12 years in prison.
