Officers combating economic crime carried out operations targeting people who expose the State Treasury to losses. The officers detained a man suspected of possessing tobacco without Polish excise-duty markings. He turned out to be a 62-year-old resident of Zgorzelec Municipality.
During a search of his home, police officers found illegal cut tobacco (more than 20 kg of tobacco was secured). The officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail. The market value of the seized goods is several thousand złoty.
The 62-year-old now faces up to 3 years in prison.
