During the night of December 14–15, police stopped a Ford vehicle for a roadside check in Jeżów Sudecki. The driver turned out to be a 27-year-old man traveling with his 26-year-old friend. During the inspection, the men were visibly nervous. In the course of the proceedings, the driver admitted that he had smoked marijuana before getting behind the wheel.
It also came to light that the passenger was in possession of drugs. Officers seized marijuana from which approximately 130 street-level doses could have been obtained. Some of the drugs had been divided into individual packages and prepared for sale.
The 26-year-old was taken into police custody. He faces up to 3 years in prison. His friend, meanwhile, will be held responsible for driving under the influence of drugs, an offense punishable by up to 2 years in prison.
Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail: they are checking the source of the seized drugs and whether the man was involved in their distribution.
