The incident occurred on December 14, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police officers from Legnica were called to a domestic intervention because of the aggressive behavior of an intoxicated man. His partner asked for help.
After arriving at the scene and entering the apartment, the police officers were attacked by the assailant, who charged at them while holding a knife and sword in his hands.
Despite being ordered to drop the dangerous objects, the man continued attacking the officers. As a result, one of them fired a warning shot and then used his service weapon against the suspect, wounding him in the leg.
After receiving medical attention, the man was placed in a specialist hospital.
