On 20 November, police officers from Police Station I in Jelenia Góra were notified by an 85-year-old woman that several thousand zlotys and jewelry had been stolen from her apartment. The crime took place that day, at around 12:00 p.m., in Jelenia Góra. Two young women knocked on her door and said they were meter readers from Wodnik and had come to read the meter. The victim therefore let them into the apartment. One of the women stayed in the kitchen, allegedly checking the water quality and engaging the homeowner in conversation, while the other looked around the apartment. After they left, the victim realized that she had lost several thousand zlotys and jewelry.
