Officers from the Criminal Unit of the Police Station in Szklarska Poręba identified and detained a 25-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County, suspected of misappropriating a card and theft by burglary.
The incident occurred in September this year in Szklarska Poręba. The suspect found a wallet on the street containing documents and an ATM card. After looking through the wallet, the woman realized that it belonged to her friend. However, she did not return the lost property to its owner. Instead, she used the payment card several times to withdraw money from his account. The owner estimated his losses at approximately PLN 200.
When the injured party realized that someone had used his card, he notified the police. The perpetrator was detained. She admitted to the alleged offenses. She could face up to 10 years in prison.
