Police officers from the criminal investigations department received a report from one of Lubin’s parishes about damage to a marble statue of Jesus Christ. The perpetrators turned out to be two 16-year-old residents of Lubin.

Using a granite paving block, the minors broke the statue’s arm, causing losses of more than PLN 5,000. They then damaged a metal gutter at the church and attempted to vandalize a statue of the Virgin Mary, but were unsuccessful because it was protected by a plexiglass panel.

The young vandals did not stop at these acts of destruction and also damaged a gate near the church.

Thanks to the evidence presented by the police officers, the minors also admitted breaking windows in two bus-stop shelters.

The total losses caused by the 16-year-olds amounted to nearly PLN 8,000. The minors explained their behavior by saying that... they needed to blow off steam. They will now answer for their actions before the family court.
