On 12 October this year, the owner of the goods, a 30-year-old resident of Lower Silesia, was stopped for a roadside inspection in Jelenia Góra County. In the man's car, officers found several dozen packs of cigarettes of various brands and untaxed cut tobacco.
The driver transporting the illegal goods was detained. What is more, the officers decided to search the garage used by the 30-year-old. There, too, they found cigarettes, cut tobacco and illegal alcohol (a total of 3,500 cigarettes, 5.5 kg of cut tobacco and 36 litres of spirits; the total value of the goods was nearly PLN 30,000).
The 30-year-old could face up to three years in prison.
