And they add: “Last year, 104 foreigners arrived in Jelenia Góra for temporary residence, 14 of whom settled permanently. During the first six months of this year, 101 people arrived, six of them for permanent residence.”

Indeed, as expected, Ukrainians were the largest group in recent years, accounting for approximately 40% of arrivals in each of these periods. Russians (9 people) and Americans (4 people) also came to Jelenia Góra, not to mention representatives of other nationalities.

“The concerns of people who are anxious about the new wave of migration from the South are understandable, because this is a different direction of arrival, with different reasons and conditions. Nevertheless, the scale of the fears seems excessive in light of the information about migrants already in Jelenia Góra,” officials stress.
