Prosecutors are investigating the suspected acceptance of a bribe by two police officers from the Bolesławiec traffic unit. Neither officer works there anymore, as both submitted applications to retire.
Research conducted by OBOP shows that the Police is perceived by Poles as one of the institutions where bribes are most often accepted. One in four residents of our country holds this view. Money is most often handed over in exchange for avoiding a fine, having a driving licence returned, covering up driving under the influence of alcohol, handling a case favourably, or helping obtain unjustified compensation.
