On 31 August, the duty officer at the Police Station in Bogatynia received a report of a robbery. In one of the shops in Bogatynia, the perpetrator put a 32-inch television into a shopping cart, for which he did not intend to pay. As he bypassed the checkout line, he was noticed by a security guard, who tried to prevent him from leaving the shop. The young man then used pepper spray on the security guard and fled, taking the television, worth approximately PLN 1,000.
The man was arrested. He is a 25-year-old resident of Bogatynia Municipality. The prosecutor placed him under police supervision and imposed a ban on leaving the country. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
