The incident took place on 27 August at around 4:40 p.m. in one of the villages in Stara Kamienica Municipality. The 38-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra noticed two teenage girls by the water who had arrived on bicycles. The man decided to steal the bicycles. He failed because witnesses scared him off and also notified the police.
The 38-year-old was detained a few minutes later. He admitted his guilt and was taken to police custody. He faces up to five years in prison.
