Earning further valuable points in sporting competition among the units of the Black Division, soldiers of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment brought trophies in the form of medals and cups back to the garrison.
On 27–29 May, the 23pa team, consisting of Maj. Jan Kędziora, Warrant Officer Tomasz Mucha, Senior Private Iwona Skrobuk-Jadach and Private Robert Walkowiak, took part in the DG RSZ tennis championships, held at the facilities of the 1st Sapper Regiment in Brzeg. In the team classification, the artillerymen took second place out of eight participating teams. In the men’s individual category up to 45 years of age, Warrant Officer Tomasz Mucha took second place on the podium, while in the over-45 category Major Kędziora took third place. In the women’s group, Private Skrobuk-Jadach took fourth place.
The Regiment’s team also achieved an excellent result in the patrol-running championships, held on 2–3 June this year at the training facilities of the 11 bdow in Żagań. The soldiers had to compete in running, the OSF and shooting, in both individual and team categories. In the team classification, the Regiment’s team, consisting of Second Lieutenant Damian Sikora, Warrant Officer Sławomir Tkacz, Senior Corporal Adam Kopeć and Private Jacek Bochnia, took second place, while individually Senior Corporal Kopeć won fifth place.
