The team from II LO consists of eight students, with Roland Lippik as their supervisor and instructor. “Thanks to the cooperation between the Youth Cultural Centre and the secondary school, I can teach this talented group,” says the instructor. “Sometimes I regret that they have to take their final exams, although I strongly support them and wish them the best, because then they leave and other clubs take over such well-trained players. Most often, the secondary-school students join the AZS Wrocław University of Science and Technology club. In general, this is a great year for bridge players from Bolesławiec, because we achieved the highest placements thanks to the performances of the school, club and county teams,” adds Roland Lippik.
The secondary-school students play for pleasure, out of passion, for good company and to develop their skills. They are wonderful young people, deeply committed to their passion, aiming high and confidently winning more awards. To achieve the highest placement, they took part in eight tournaments, successfully collecting points in successive classifications.
“Competition is motivating, and achieving a good placement motivates you to reach for an even higher one,” says Wojciech Wiącek, an individual bronze medalist in Lower Silesia.
