It was established that on 25 March 2015 in Jelenia Góra, the perpetrator boarded a number 1 bus at the bus terminus, where the victim was travelling.
The two men knew each other personally. Patrycjusz S. decided to help his brother, who is a suspect in proceedings conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra concerning the trafficking of narcotic drugs. Among others, the victim gave testimony incriminating the dealer in that investigation.
The perpetrator approached the witness on the bus and began punching him in the face, while also threatening to kill him. He demanded that the assaulted man retract his testimony. After the incident, the accused got off the bus.
The victim notified police officers, who arrested the attacker.
At the request of the District Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, the District Court ordered that Patrycjusz S. be placed in pre-trial detention.
S. had previously been convicted, and the offence with which he is charged carries a sentence of up to five years’ imprisonment.
