A police officer from Police Station I in Jelenia Góra was just returning home. Meanwhile, on Różyckiego Street, he noticed a man on the bridge railing who wanted to commit suicide by jumping into the river.
The officer immediately pulled the desperate man off the railing and then notified the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
The desperate man turned out to be a 58-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. He clearly smelled of alcohol. A test showed nearly 2 per mille. The 58-year-old admitted that he wanted to take his own life. He stated that he had had enough of everything.
The resident of Jelenia Góra was taken to police custody to sober up, and the following day he was placed under the care of doctors.
