The arrest took place on February 22. At around 10:35 a.m., the duty officer at Police Station II in Jelenia Góra received information from a car owner that a man had broken into the vehicle and was trying to start it.
When the would-be burglar saw the police car, he tried to escape. Without success—he was arrested a few minutes later.
The 22-year-old, who has no permanent place of residence, was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
