Bolesłavia athlete Ewa Ochocka did not disappoint, proving that she is currently the best Polish hurdler in her age category. The athlete coached by Małgorzata Markowska confidently won the 60 m hurdles (8.57 s). Ewa also added a bronze medal in the 60 m (7.64 s).

“Already in the 60 m race I felt that things were going well, which was confirmed when I won the bronze medal. However, every event has its own rules, and sometimes a minor mistake eliminates you from the medal race. Nothing like that happened, though, and after last year’s silver in the 60 m hurdles and 400 m hurdles, I finally have the gold I had been hoping for. This year will be particularly difficult because I am taking my final secondary-school exams and will have to reconcile sport with studying. However, as my older teammate Maciej Goss showed, it is possible to achieve a high result in the final exams and win a gold medal at the Polish Championships,” Ewa said.

After last week’s very good 60 m race in Jablonec, one of the medal contenders at the Polish Championships was Maciej Buciak. The athlete coached by Ryszard Posacki did not disappoint and won silver in impressive style (7.04).

“I am incredibly happy. At last, many years of training and sacrifice have paid off. In sport, you have to be incredibly patient and know how to draw conclusions from some weaker performances. If you set yourself a goal, you can achieve a great deal,” Maciej said.

The athlete coached by Bartosz Gruman, Dominika Kwaszcz came very close to winning a medal in the 60 m hurdles. In the final, she missed the bronze by just 0.01 s, taking an excellent fourth place.

Kacper Olszewski also finished fourth in the 6 kg shot put (17.77 m). Our best thrower this year changed his putting technique to the rotational style and, despite minor technical errors, can consider his performance a success.

Ninth places went to:

Paweł Jóźwiak in the long jump (6.50) and Grzegorz Oślak in the 5 km race walk (24:45.85 min).
