It is worth recalling that the scope of work included, among other things: replacing the roof tiles and skylight above the swimming-pool hall, completing the cladding, repairing damage to the decorative tiles and other historic ceramic elements. The wrought-iron railings, cast-iron columns, and sandstone and terracotta slabs were cleaned and impregnated. The windows were replaced and the walls were protected against moisture. During the renovation, it was decided to install lighting at the brine pool and in the cardio room.

The swimming pool has also gained a range of attractions. The following were planned on the individual floors:

  • basement:
    • Gym – strength-training equipment
    • Salt cave – a salt cave has a microclimate like the one found by the sea. It affects our bodies in a similar way. Clean air, ionized by salt, relaxes and supports the treatment of many conditions – asthma, upper respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, hypothyroidism, psoriasis, and neurosis. The salt cave uses the beneficial properties of salt. Salt tightens and cleanses the skin, protects it from free radicals, and helps with weight loss and combating cellulite. The iodine it contains strengthens the mucous membrane, which affects immunity (immune bodies are found in mucus). A visit to the cave cannot replace a walk by the sea, of course, but it is a good way to relax quickly after leaving work or even in the middle of a busy day
  • ground floor:
    • Cardio Room – treadmills, rowing machines, steppers, stationary bicycles, elliptical ergometers, and more
    • Vaculife Professional Dual – equipment for physical exercise in a vacuum and infrared environment; advanced technology that combines vacuum and infrared in a unique way. Designed for both sexes. The device focuses particularly on areas where fatty tissue most commonly accumulates. Regular use of VacuLife helps effectively combat excess fatty tissue
    • CO2 cryotherapy device – the aim of cryotherapy is to lower the temperature of the skin and deeper tissues, thereby causing deep hyperemia in the treated area. Cryotherapy primarily has analgesic and hyperemic effects. Under the influence of low temperatures, superficial blood vessels decrease in diameter, while deep blood vessels increase in diameter. This mechanism produces hyperemia in deeply located structures. Applications: post-traumatic and overload conditions, acute tissue inflammation, post-traumatic swelling, rheumatoid arthritis, pain conditions, peripheral neuralgia, sciatic and brachial pain syndromes, overload-related inflammatory reactions in joints, and psoriatic arthritis
    • Solarium
    • Sunny Meadow – 2 stations – an optimal level of vitamin D in the body has a positive effect on human health and may reduce the risk not only of osteoporosis and fractures, but also of cardiovascular diseases and certain malignant tumors – numerous studies to date confirm this. It is essential for proper calcium and phosphorus metabolism. The good condition of teeth and bones depends on it. Our body can synthesize it, but only with the help of sunlight. Therefore, in winter, when sunlight is scarce, we have little vitamin D³ in our bodies. We owe it strong, healthy bones; it prevents rickets in both children and adults, prevents osteoporosis, and also plays an important role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the digestive tract. It is formed from cholesterol accumulated just beneath the skin and from certain plant-derived sterols. It therefore uses some of our cholesterol
    • Recreational brine pool
    • Brine pool
    • Brine jacuzzi – 2 stations
  • first floor:
    • Fitness Room: small exercise equipment, mats, mirror
    • SPA Capsule – the SPA Capsule is a modern device in the field of cosmetology and wellness that meets the expectations of even the most demanding users. It allows treatments to be carried out comprehensively according to the client’s individual needs. The combination of a steam sauna, infrared rays, aromatherapy, vibrational massage, hydrotherapy, and color therapy produces surprising results. A major advantage of the capsule is the possibility of using chromotherapy (color treatment). Applications: stimulates blood circulation, has a relaxing effect, improves well-being, supports body shaping by stimulating calorie burning, helps combat cellulite, detoxifies, regenerates the skin, improves the absorption of active substances contained in cosmetics, relaxes muscles, alleviates pain, and strengthens the immune system
    • Dry water massage bed – a water bed used for massage. Jets located beneath the mattress cover effectively massage the entire body from feet to head using the force of water streams. Therapy on the massage bed improves health by stimulating lymphatic and vascular circulation and boosting metabolism, while also relaxing the muscles, providing well-being, and promoting rest and relaxation
    • Ocean Forte hydrotherapy and underwater massage tub – hydromassage improves well-being, stimulates, and provides energy, helping maintain good fitness and youthfulness for longer. It also benefits the skin, removes fatigue, and relaxes. Water massage also alleviates joint and headache pain and relaxes tense muscles. Everyone can use water massage, including children and older people. It is especially appreciated by those who work for many hours a day standing or sitting, which negatively affects the spine and circulation. For people suffering from degenerative diseases, water massage soothes joint pain. It also supports the treatment of sciatica. In stressed and overtired people, it reduces muscle tension and headaches, improves mood, and ensures good sleep. It is excellent for cosmetic purposes. It improves blood flow to the skin and accelerates the burning of fatty tissue, reducing cellulite. In women after childbirth, it restores the elasticity of the abdominal muscles. Baths in hydromassage tubs are also recommended for skin problems, osteoporosis, and digestive disorders
    • Laguna Plus Bubble hydrotherapy and pearl massage tub – used for balneological baths, hydromassage, and pearl massage, with the option of using chromotherapy and ozone therapy
  • Massage Room:
    • Massage table
    • Aquavibron with ZOW is a therapeutic massage device that uses mains water under normal pressure as its energy source. An important advantage of the device is that it can perform massage both in water and dry. The massage is carried out through 10 different massage membranes made of special rubber. It uses vibrations of a rubber membrane caused by water flowing under normal pressure. The effects of this massage include tissue regeneration, increased muscle elasticity, and improved joint mobility. Main applications: neurological and rheumatological conditions, post-traumatic conditions, ear, nose and throat conditions, dermatological and urological conditions, diseases of the circulatory, digestive, and respiratory systems, metabolic disorders, dental conditions, and rehabilitation after mastectomy. The Closed Water Circuit, ZOW, is a station designed to work with Aquavibron. It enables massage to be performed economically and ecologically, with lower water consumption and less wastewater, thanks to the closed circuit of water that generates the vibrations
    • Deep electromagnetic electrical stimulation device – sudden changes in magnetic-field intensity induce an electrical potential in a neuron. This phenomenon is called electromagnetic induction. When the current reaches a certain value, the so-called neuronal action potential is achieved. This causes depolarization of neuronal cells, which ultimately leads to muscle contraction. Applications: musculoskeletal disorders, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pain, and painful shoulder syndrome; functional spinal disorders, such as acute or chronic lower-back pain, sciatica, spina bifida, degenerative changes in the vertebrae, and local and referred pain in the cervical region; nerve disorders, including peripheral nerve damage; muscle-tension relaxation; acute pain therapy; post-traumatic rehabilitation of muscles or nerves; muscle weakness, muscle atrophy, and contractures; genitourinary diseases, such as prostate pain and cervical pain; sports injuries and wellness rehabilitation
    • Shock-wave and combined-therapy device – Shock Wave Therapy (SWT – Shock Wave Therapy) is a modern, highly effective treatment method. Shock waves accelerate the healing process by stimulating metabolism and blood circulation, dissolving calcified fibroblasts, increasing collagen production, and reducing muscle tension. Damaged tissue gradually regenerates and supports the healing process in the treated area. Applications: jumper’s knee, patellar tendon pain, runner’s knee, tennis elbow, lateral epicondylitis, heel spur, plantar fasciitis, myofascial pain syndrome, plantar tendon pain, Achilles tendon pain, medial tibial stress syndrome, shoulder pain, calcifications in the muscles and soft tissues of joints, post-traumatic conditions – hematomas, iliotibial band friction syndrome, groin pain caused by overuse of the thigh adductor muscles, and trigger points

    • Lymphatic drainage device – lymphatic drainage is a type of specialist massage that can be performed manually by a physiotherapist or with a special device. Lymphatic drainage is a pleasant and painless treatment recommended especially for people dealing with congestive edema, particularly in the legs. Lymphatic drainage is recommended for women after childbirth and for women who often wear high-heeled shoes. It is also used in the treatment of post-traumatic and inflammatory conditions because it significantly accelerates the absorption of bruises and hematomas after injuries. Women should be particularly encouraged by the fact that lymphatic drainage effectively reduces cellulite. It is also worth undergoing the treatment while losing weight, as it provides significant support. Lymphatic drainage also helps remove unnecessary metabolic products and cleanse the body of toxins. It is an excellent treatment for anyone wishing to care for the relaxation of their legs
    • Massage stone set with heater – a treatment that perfectly complements comprehensive physiotherapy. It is used in wellness and massage centers, accelerating recovery processes and thereby increasing the body’s exercise capacity. Combining warm stones with appropriate massage techniques is beneficial for the tired, stressed body and mind of a modern person; it relaxes and regenerates the entire body. Hot basalt stones of volcanic origin are used in the massage. Through years of natural processing by sea waves, they become suitable for therapeutic purposes. They are specially selected for their shape and come from environmentally clean areas. The massage combines the effects of thermotherapy and lymphatic massage, and also uses techniques from classical massage. The warmth flowing from the stones and the calm, slow movements during the massage allow the maximum relaxation of muscles tense after a full day of work

The modernization is being carried out as part of the project “Restoration of the former function of the bathhouse at the historic swimming pool on Zgorzelecka Street in Bolesławiec,” implemented under the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for 2007–2013.

Miejskie Zakłady Kąpielowe is listed in the Voivodeship Register of Historic Monuments, in which the tower, forming part of the complex of municipal defensive walls and incorporated into the Miejskie Zakłady as a whole, had already been included in 1959. The facility was built at the beginning of the 20th century and, despite the considerable passage of time and many years of use, its rooms had not previously undergone any renovation.

As part of the funding received, the facility underwent comprehensive revitalization to introduce new functions that would expand its offer, increase its attractiveness, and improve safety.
