Despite intensified police checks during the long weekend, 79 accidents occurred on the roads of Lower Silesia, in which 21 people died and 116 were injured. Police officers also arrested 405 drunk drivers.

For a week, Lower Silesian police officers monitored road traffic more intensively than usual. Officers mainly checked whether drivers were sober, whether they were exceeding the speed limit, whether people travelling in cars were wearing seat belts, and whether children were being transported in special child seats.
