On January 20, at around 7:00 a.m., Lubin residents notified the police dispatcher that a drunk man was trying to get into a car and drive away. The residents tried to take his keys away and stop him. Unsuccessfully. They therefore called the police.

A patrol went to the scene and arrested a 48-year-old resident of Głogów. The man was about to enter the K3 road, which was being used at the time by coaches carrying children to spend their winter break. The residents’ vigilance probably prevented a tragedy.

The 48-year-old had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his breath. The Audi A6 he was driving was towed at his expense. The man from Głogów now faces up to 2 years in prison.
