On January 2, after 1:00 p.m., the Lubin police duty officer was notified that a telecommunications line had been cut in Lubin municipality. It turned out that an unknown perpetrator had stolen a telecommunications cable.
The thief was detained when—as if nothing had happened—he was riding his bicycle home. He is a 39-year-old resident of the municipality. Officers found the stolen property on him. The suspect was taken into police custody.
Moreover, officers established that this was not the 39-year-old’s first theft. In November of last year, he stole another telecommunications cable. The losses he caused in both cases amounted to nearly PLN 1,000.
The detained man faces up to 8 years in prison.
