On 26 November, we reported that police officers from Legnica arrested two gutter thieves, including a man who stole copper gutters from a bank building. The 21-year-old Legnica resident was taken into police custody.
As it turned out, he was responsible for 16 thefts of metal and copper elements, as well as one burglary (he smashed a pane of glass in the entrance door of a building and stole... a baby stroller).
The Legnica resident mainly stole gutters from bank buildings, municipal institutions, a hotel and properties belonging to private individuals. He sold the stolen goods at scrap-metal collection points. The losses he caused amount to several thousand zlotys.
The man had previously been convicted of similar offences. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
