On 8 December, proceedings against 62-year-old Piechowice resident Kazimierz F. will begin before the District Court in Jelenia Góra. The Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office has charged him, among other things, with murdering Patryk W.
The tragedy occurred on 18 February 2014 in Piechowice, on a street near the victim’s home. The accused went there to take revenge on Patryk W. for having hit him earlier.
The investigation established that at the beginning of February 2014, F. attempted to take several bottles of beer from a grocery store in Piechowice without paying for them. The victim’s wife, Marlena W., stood in his way. The accused reacted very aggressively to the woman’s actions, insulting her and shouting that he knew her husband.
After returning home, Marlena W. told Patryk W. about the incident. He promised that if he met F., he would reprimand him.
On 18 February, Patryk W. was driving with his wife and child when he noticed Kazimierz F. on the street. He stopped to speak with him. An argument followed, during which W. punched the accused in the face, then got back into the car and drove away.
Some time later, W.’s wife saw Kazimierz F. walking around their car through the window. She asked her husband to check whether the man had damaged their vehicle. When W. left the house, F. stabbed him with a sharp instrument in the face and around the left shoulder.
The man died as a result of his injuries.
F. was arrested. It was established that two days earlier he had robbed his employer. Threatening Andrzej P. with a knife, he took his bicycle, worth PLN 2,000.
F. did not plead guilty. He has been held in pre-trial detention since 18 February. He faces up to life imprisonment.
