Municipal officials joined the operation conducted by officers from the Lubin District Police Headquarters: the Lubin district governor, the head of Lubin Municipality, the head of Rudna Municipality and the mayor of the Ścinawa Municipality and Town, who funded the reflective elements.
During the first stage of the “Visible from Afar” operation, female police officers from the Social Prevention Team conducted talks before the summer holidays, discussing, among other things, road safety. The children received self-tightening reflective bands at that time.
The second stage of the operation has just begun and is primarily aimed at cyclists and moped riders. The activities are being conducted by officers from Rudna, Ścinawa and the Lubin traffic police.
Let us recall: on 31 August, regulations came into force stipulating that a pedestrian travelling from dusk until dawn outside a built-up area is required to have a reflective element in a visible place. More on this subject in the article: Up to PLN 500 fine for not wearing a reflector.
