During Wednesday’s Pierścień operation police officers from KPP Bolesławiec arrested two young men who wanted to sell stolen road infrastructure components at a scrap yard.
Officers determined that an 18-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality had stolen aluminium profiles from glare screens on the A4 motorway on October 11. They were worth nearly PLN 3,000. Several days later, he decided to sell them at a scrap yard.
His 22-year-old friend knew that the property had been stolen, but nevertheless offered to help transport the road infrastructure components and sell them.
Police secured a total of 75 aluminium profiles, each between 1 and 2 metres long. Both arrested men face up to 5 years in prison.
