The incident took place on September 21, at around 5:00 a.m. The Lubin police duty officer received information that an unfamiliar person was walking along one of the balconies of a high-rise building in the Przylesie housing estate. The callers suspected that he wanted to steal a bicycle.
A patrol went to the scene. The officers spotted a 25-year-old man from Lubin on the balcony of an apartment on the first floor. When he noticed the uniformed officers, he began throwing various objects at them and climbing upward—via the balconies.
In this way, he reached the ninth floor. He broke into an apartment and entered it. He was arrested inside. One of the residents was sleeping there and learned about the break-in from the officers.
The 25-year-old man was charged with making unlawful threats against police officers and attempting burglary.
The man was known to Lubin investigators. He faced two more charges: robbery (in August of this year at a gaming arcade; he used violence to render an employee defenseless and then stole money) and aggravated extortion (in one of the apartments, he wanted to steal a game console and games; when a woman tried to stop him, the 25-year-old used force again).
The prosecutor asked the court to order temporary detention for the 25-year-old.
