The anniversary gathering took place on Saturday. It was attended by the school’s founders, Zdzisława and Czesław Tubaj, city authorities, as well as regional directors and lecturers from Tubaj schools in Poland, Austria and Germany. Current and former students of the school, who have achieved many successes in Poland and abroad, also took part in the gathering. Among them, Filip Pająk and Magdalena Kozieł are worth mentioning—the youngest speed-reading champions of Bolesławiec, reading approximately 10,000 words per minute. Izabela Rosenfeld and Dominika Dobrowolska from Łódź also came to Bolesławiec; they read 45,000 words per minute with 80% comprehension of the text.
To provide proof, the event organizers, together with a local newspaper, prepared a test to check reading speed. Participants had 15 seconds to read and memorize one page of text. It turned out that the school’s students had time to read the text several times, while other participants managed to read only 2–3 sentences. As for comprehension, people using speed-reading techniques answered 80% of the questions about the content of the text correctly.
During its five years of operation, Tubaj Speed Reading School has achieved undeniable success. Branches of the school have been established in many Polish cities. Branches of the Bolesławiec school have also been opened in Austria and Germany. The school can boast its own textbook and a teaching methodology developed by the school.
