An extraordinary vigilance was shown by a resident of Legnica who, when approached by a young man in front of Galeria Cuprum, notified the police instead of giving him money. Officers arrested the man from Wrocław.
In August, the 30-year-old extorted money, most often in the vicinity of Galeria Cuprum Arena. The man from Wrocław presented himself as a representative of one of the foundations involved in helping animals. He did not even check that the institution he referred to did not actually have foundation status (it is an association). He spent all the money he collected on his own needs.
Police are asking anyone who was defrauded in this way to contact them by telephone (at 76 840 63 60) or in person (KPP Lubin, ul. Traugutta 3).
