The detention took place on September 3 at around 1:00 a.m. While patrolling the city, police officers noticed a man on Kasprowicza Street in Jelenia Góra who began behaving strangely when he saw the police car—he changed direction and suddenly quickened his pace. What is more, he was nervously clutching the handle of a suitcase.
The 26-year-old man from Jelenia Góra first tried to mislead the officers by giving a false name. However, it turned out that he was wanted, was due to serve a substitute prison sentence, and that the suitcase contained... approximately 85 retail portions of marijuana.
The officers are currently checking where the narcotics came from and whether the suspect was dealing them. The 26-year-old was taken into police custody. He faces up to three years in prison.
