The incident took place on August 12. After a chase, police officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police detained two men, aged 23 and 25, suspected of stealing two bottles of vodka and committing traffic violations.
Officers established that both perpetrators stole two bottles of alcohol from one of the discount grocery stores and fled. A security guard noticed the theft and chased the 25-year-old. While fleeing, the thieves ran across pedestrian crossings against a red light. One of them managed to do so without any problems; the other ran straight into a Renault Kangoo. Despite suffering minor injuries, he did not stop and continued to flee.
Officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained the suspects several streets away. Both detainees clearly smelled of alcohol. The men were taken into police custody. They will now face court for their actions.
