Officers from the Criminal Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters apprehended a man suspected of stealing 500 m of copper cable. They determined that the 27-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality dug up the cable near a disused railway line at the turn of May and June. The losses he caused were estimated at over PLN 16,000.
The 27-year-old sold the copper at various non-ferrous metal collection points. The man admitted to the crime. He faces up to five years in prison.
